normally, i don’t post personal stuff too much, but let me tell you a story I’d like to call
MASHED POTATOES
You see, I’ve always been known to bring mashed potatoes to any type of potluck. I love it because it’s so easy and because they are yumsterz. Just add hot water and you’re done in about 2 minutes. At senior banquet this year, I decided to make REAL mashed potatoes. It was a lot more costly than the 88 cent packages I normally buy. And it required a lot more work and time. I literally sweated and my hands hurt because of all my potato slicing. and I’m a person who likes to get things done quickly so waiting for the potatoes to soften was a test of patience for me too. But in the midst of slicing the potatoes, I realized that my mashed potato experience can correlate a lot with my relationship with Jesus. The fake mashed potatoes is easy, quick, tastes alright, and does the job. Yet, the real mashed potatoes was costly, took forever and took a lot of labor than what I am used to. However, the overall taste of the real mashed potatoes was sooo much more richer, creamier and just worth it. In the same way, all the costs you have to sacrifice for God’s kingdom, waiting for Him in patience and just fighting for Him is just soo worth it. I’m not satisfied with a fake powdered mashed potatoes faith anymore. I’m here for the real deal. Because Jesus is so worth it.
